ChainThink reports that on June 30, according to an official announcement, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has established a new Frontline Deployment Engineer (FDE) team and is allocating $1 billion in internal resources to help enterprise customers deploy customized AI agents and related systems.

AWS states that FDE engineers will be embedded directly at customer organizations to build AI applications, optimize workflows, and help customers develop the capability to independently develop and operate AI systems—not just deliver and maintain them.

The FDE model was first promoted by Palantir. For comparison, OpenAI and Anthropic previously launched related FDE joint ventures, with sizes of approximately $4 billion and $1.5 billion, respectively;
