IT Home, October 25 — Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said on Friday that, driven by sustained demand for AI infrastructure, AWS cloud capacity is nearly sold out through 2027, with significant long-term computing orders secured through 2028.

This episode of the video podcast is hosted by Ben Horowitz, co-founder of Andreessen Horowitz, and general partner Erik Torenberg. Jassy said on the show that demand for computing power from AI labs and enterprise customers continues to grow, and Amazon has been working hard to keep up.
Earlier this year, Amazon announced a capital expenditure plan of approximately $220 billion for 2026 (IT Home note: approximately RMB 1.47 trillion at current exchange rates).
Jia Xi noted that since the cloud computing power capacity for 2026 is already fully subscribed, the company "could actually increase its investment, as further scaling is not an inefficient use of funds."
He said, "The computing capacity for 2027 is nearly sold out. We will reserve some resources for on-demand usage, Bedrock inference services, and EC2, but most of the large blocks of computing capacity suitable for bulk procurement have already been booked. A significant portion of the capacity for 2028 has also been pre-locked."
EC2 is AWS's cloud server service, used to host various applications; Bedrock enables customers to invoke AI models and build generative AI applications.
Amazon is scheduled to release its third-quarter earnings report on October 29 local time.
