However, during subsequent conversion of the USDC to ETH, insufficient slippage protection settings caused the transaction to be sandwiched by MEV bots. As a result, the attacker received only about 67 WETH, equivalent to approximately $129,000 in value—representing a loss of over 75% of the stolen funds.
