AST SpaceMobile signed a letter of intent with Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefónica and Vodafone Group to explore a joint bid for European Mobile Satellite Services spectrum. AST SpaceMobile is developing ground infrastructure through Satellite Connect Europe, AST SpaceMobile's European joint venture, to connect BlueBird satellites with mobile networks. The infrastructure would keep data and service operations under European jurisdiction. AST SpaceMobile's satellites connect directly to standard smartphones and have demonstrated download speeds of up to 98.9 Mbps. Next-generation satellite models are expected to approach 200 Mbps. AST SpaceMobile's technology can use about 1,150 MHz of partner companies' low- and mid-band spectrum worldwide. That flexibility, combined with AST SpaceMobile's S-band spectrum rights, could support greater coverage and capacity across Europe, subject to regulatory approvals.

A separate session comparison showed AST SpaceMobile up 6.94%, outperforming a 0.27% decline in the Communication Services sector by about 7.21 percentage points. The stock's performance indicated company-specific strength while the sector was not leading the market. Communication Services ranked fifth among 11 sectors in the current session. Technology rose 2.14%. Consumer Discretionary rose 1.63%. Communication Services fell 4.12% over the past 30 days. The sector was flat over 90 days, suggesting individual stock advances can be driven more by news than by sector trends.
Benzinga Edge assigned AST SpaceMobile a bearish momentum score of 3.42, indicating very weak trend strength. AST SpaceMobile remained well below key moving averages despite the session's rise. The momentum assessment suggested news-driven price increases remained possible, but the broader trend still needed improvement. Sustained gains that regain major moving averages would provide stronger confirmation for longer-term bullish investors than a single-session increase.
The Tema Space Innovators ETF held AST SpaceMobile at a 6.75% portfolio weight. The Procure Space ETF held AST SpaceMobile at a 4.61% weight. The Defiance Drone and Modern Warfare ETF held AST SpaceMobile at a 4.65% weight. Significant inflows or outflows at these funds would likely force automatic buying or selling of AST SpaceMobile shares because of the stock's substantial portfolio weights.
