ChainThink reports that, on October 10, according to Korean media, ASML has notified Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix of a uniform 10% price increase for EUV and DUV lithography machine components in the Korean market, with the adjustment expected to take effect in January next year.
Both parties have accepted the proposal after negotiations by the procurement department. The price increase pertains to consumable parts requiring regular replacement and core components needed for fault repairs, including the optical system, light source, and precision drive mechanisms.
Previously, ASML typically adjusted prices individually for components affected by rising raw material costs or specific material supply shortages. At the same time, ASML is negotiating price increases for new equipment with its major customers.
Reports indicate that investment in AI data centers is driving storage chip and foundry manufacturers to expand capacity, increasing demand for equipment and components; TSMC previously opposed ASML's equipment price increases.
