Arthur Hayes, former CEO of BitMEX, told Altcoin Daily that the ETH market update reveals strong potential in the current recovery. He expects ETH to outperform major cryptocurrencies, with ETH’s price potentially reaching $20,000 to $30,000 within five years if BTC hits $200,000. He also noted that BTC’s dominance could decline from 60% to 40% as ETH gains momentum.

ChainCatcher report: Arthur Hayes recently participated in a video interview with the Altcoin Daily podcast. During the interview, Arthur once again expressed strong bullishness toward ETH: “In this round of cryptocurrency market liquidity rebound, it will outperform all other major-cap crypto assets.” When asked by the host, “If BTC rises to $200,000 over the next five years, where do you think ETH will be?” Arthur replied: “I don’t know the exact exchange rate, but maybe $20,000, $25,000, or even $30,000... Currently, BTC’s market share is around 60%. During the DeFi Summer of 2020–2021, it dropped to about 25%–26%. I don’t think it will fall that low again, but a decline to 40% is possible—and most of that shift will be driven by ETH. It’s the largest asset by market cap, and no other asset can rise as rapidly and substantially enough to meaningfully erode BTC’s dominance.”
