Odaily Planet Daily reports that Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest has announced the tokenization of its approximately $1.3 billion ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX) via Securitize, marking ARK’s first officially blockchain-based fund.
ARKVX is an actively managed fund investing in private and public technology companies, with its current portfolio including firms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe, and Databricks. This tokenization does not alter the fund’s investment strategy; it simply migrates existing fund shares onto a blockchain infrastructure.
The tokenized version will be deployed on Ethereum and made available to qualified investors through Securitize. Securitize will handle fund issuance, investor access, and the associated on-chain infrastructure.
ARK Invest founder and CEO Cathie Wood said that tokenizing the ARK Venture Fund represents a practical implementation of the company’s belief in the evolution—and even revolution—of capital markets. She believes tokenization has the potential to fundamentally transform how investors participate in private and public financial markets.
