Odaily Planet Daily reports that approximately $15 billion in Bitcoin options will expire on Friday, September 25, with the September 25 contracts accounting for over one-third of Deribit’s total Bitcoin open interest. The put/call ratio stands at 0.70, with the largest call positions concentrated at strike prices of $85,000, $90,000, and $100,000.
Bitcoin is trading at approximately $84,258, down 2% on the day, above the maximum pain level of $76,000 and below the $85,000 level with the highest concentration of long positions. Large-scale options expirations are typically accompanied by volatility, but market makers' hedging activities may dampen it; Bitcoin’s recent strength is linked to the U.S. Treasury expanding repurchase operations, a weaker dollar, and the price rising above the 365-day moving average.
