IT Home, October 16 news, according to Caixin, at the Global Wealth Management Forum 2026 Shanghai Suzhou River Bay event today, Tim Cook, Executive Chairman of Apple and Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, noted that artificial intelligence applications are experiencing explosive growth.
Cook stated that AI-assisted programming has significantly lowered the barrier to coding, enabling people with little to no prior exposure to code to write programs. Meanwhile, artificial intelligence has already had a profound impact on supply chains in multiple ways.
In the past, quality inspection relied heavily on manual labor. Today, machine learning has made detection highly automated and more accurate. For example, in iPhone color inspection, machine learning is used to perform all inspection and imaging tasks to ensure consistent color across millions of mass-produced devices.
According to IT Home, this is Cook’s first visit to China since stepping down as CEO and assuming the role of Executive Chairman of the Board, with Guangzhou as his first stop. He then appeared at Tsinghua University to attend the annual meeting of the Advisory Committee of the School of Economics and Management.
Cook also exchanged views with Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao on topics including China-U.S. economic and trade relations, artificial intelligence development, and Apple’s business operations in China. Cook stated that Apple is confident in China’s development prospects, plans to further expand its business in China, and is willing to play a positive role in promoting stable and healthy development of China-U.S. economic and trade relations.
