ChainCatcher report: At凌晨 on November 4, Apple Intelligence became available for testing with the latest iOS Developer Beta. According to Caixin, users can directly access Alibaba’s AI application Qwen’s text and image understanding, content generation, and other capabilities within Siri, Writing Tools, and Visual Intelligence. During testing, reporters found that users can perform basic Q&A, image and text analysis, and content generation directly on their iPhones; for more advanced needs, they can tap to be redirected to the Qwen app, with conversation history automatically synced. Users may choose whether to enable the Qwen integration. Once enabled, users can log in via Apple ID or their existing Qwen app account and use Qwen within Siri, Visual Intelligence, and Writing Tools. When asked about improving sleep, Siri invoked Qwen to provide general recommendations; for more personalized solutions, users can tap the Qwen icon to be redirected to the Qwen app, which analyzes factors such as prior sleep records, exercise habits, and lifestyle to create a customized improvement plan. Visual Intelligence supports selecting “Ask Qwen” to identify objects or scenes in images—for example, users can first ask Siri about a clothing brand, then tap through to the Qwen app to search for the same item on Taobao and complete a purchase. The “Qwen Creation” feature in Writing Tools generates content based on user prompts and allows adjustment of tone and length—for instance, preserving event details like time and location or condensing them into a concise notification suitable for sharing. Currently, users in China who purchase an iPhone compatible with Apple Intelligence, or whose device location and Apple account region are both set to China, can access these features via the Developer Beta.
