IT Home, November 4: Tech media 9to5Mac reported today (November 4) that Apple Fitness+ has launched the Gym Strength strength training feature, which is currently available for testing.
This new feature is designed for gym and home workout scenarios, generating a four-week progressive plan based on the user’s goals, experience level, schedule, and available equipment, and adjusting the following week’s content according to weekly records of workout frequency and weights lifted.

Users can select their training date and target muscle groups, choosing either 5 or 7 exercises, with estimated durations of 20–30 minutes and 45–60 minutes respectively; actual duration depends on individual pace. The plan recommends exercises, sets, reps, and weights, and provides coach demonstration videos viewable from three angles.
According to Apple, this feature covers over 350 exercises and is compatible with more than 30 types of strength training equipment, requiring only dumbbells as a minimum. When equipment is unavailable or when switching locations, users can substitute equipment, select similar exercises, and optionally increase sets or skip exercises.

For device compatibility, this feature requires iOS 27.3 or iPadOS 27.3; with watchOS 27.3, you can view workouts, reps, and weights on your Apple Watch. The optional Training Notes feature, powered by Apple Intelligence, provides workout previews, advanced instructions, and milestone reminders, but requires device support for Apple Intelligence and a language setting of English.
Gym Strength is included in your existing Fitness+ subscription at no additional cost. Subscription pricing in the U.S. is $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year.
IT Home notes that Apple Fitness+ is Apple’s paid fitness subscription service, which is currently not available in mainland China. Users can think of it as an online fitness class library within Apple devices: led by trainers, accompanied by music, personalized class recommendations, and workout data display, it can be used both at home and in the gym.
