According to Beating Monitor, Anthropic has upgraded the Claude sidebar in Chrome into a full Claude Cowork session. Now, sessions are automatically saved to your account, allowing you to start working in your browser and continue on your desktop, web, or mobile device. Claude in Chrome can now directly use Cowork’s Skills, plugins, and connectors—it can read web pages, click buttons, enter content, and fill out forms. However, for tasks involving local files or requiring Claude to actively control your computer, Claude Desktop must remain connected. Anthropic expanded Cowork to web and mobile in July, and now integrates the Chrome sidebar into the same cross-device session system. Cowork has evolved from a standalone desktop agent into a continuous, cross-browser, cross-computer, and cross-mobile agent. The updated sidebar is currently available to Max and Team users; Pro users will gain access in the coming weeks. Enterprise users require administrator activation.
