Anthropic officially announced on September 15, 2026, a major feature upgrade to its "Claude for Small and Medium Businesses." This update introduces 43 efficient workflows and adds up to 27 deep integrations with leading business software, designed to help small and medium business owners elevate artificial intelligence from a passive backend tool to a core driver of comprehensive business growth.

Looking back to May this year, Anthropic first launched intelligent connectors and pre-built workflows tailored for small and medium-sized businesses. To date, these tools have been installed and used over 900,000 times, with thousands of real-world feedback insights gathered from business owners during the previous spring tour. Building on this foundation, the newly released version specifically targets the core pain points of SMEs in business expansion, sales lead conversion, and daily management reporting.

In terms of application ecosystem expansion, the new version of Claude has achieved seamless integration with 27 popular platforms, including Shopify, Salesforce, TikTok Business Tools, Atlassian, Zoom, Xero, Gusto, Square, Stripe, and Zapier. Combined with previously supported platforms such as Intuit QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, DocuSign, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365, it has established a comprehensive ecosystem covering finance, marketing, customer service, and operations.

In response to the most frequent core scenarios faced by small and medium-sized enterprises over a week, this upgrade introduces five flagship workflows: First, the “Weekly Brief” feature automatically consolidates cash flow, sales comparisons, pipeline progress, and overdue invoices onto a single page before the user opens their spreadsheet. Second, “Intelligent Lead Response” automatically follows up on and qualifies inquiries arriving via web forms or chat windows during non-business hours, matches them with calendar availability, and logs them into the CRM. Third, “Intelligent Proposal Generation” enables users to quickly record on-site inspection details via voice memo; the system then automatically generates branded, professional business proposals using historical pricing data. Fourth, the “Marketing Content Engine” produces multi-channel copy and design briefs in bulk according to brand tone, while simultaneously aggregating sales performance across channels and drafting responses to customer reviews. Fifth, “Month-End Reconciliation & Closing” automatically cross-references accounts from all channels against invoices, payroll, and expenses, flags and isolates potential discrepancies, and generates a single-click financial summary compliant with audit standards.

In terms of security and data privacy governance, Anthropic maintains a rigorous trust-by-design approach. All automated workflows default to a “human approval” model, requiring final confirmation from an administrator before execution after preprocessing or draft generation. Additionally, the software strictly inherits the organization’s existing account access permissions and, by default, does not use users’ business data for model training in either team or enterprise plans.

To help small and medium-sized enterprises overcome technological barriers, Anthropic has also announced the launch of its Fall SMB Tour Program. The program will partner with Tenex to offer free half-day workshops in 10 major U.S. cities, deliver over 750 tailored training sessions through more than 150 officially certified training providers across local communities, and collaborate with 14 technology integration partners to provide a series of free live online courses, empowering SMBs worldwide to achieve efficient digital transformation in the age of AI.
