Odaily Planet Daily reports that Anthropic has released FlashProve, an open-source AI inference verification system based on zero-knowledge proofs (zkSNARKs), with research contributions from StarkWare co-founder Alessandro Chiesa. The system employs cryptographic methods derived from blockchain ZK technology, enabling users to verify whether AI outputs were generated by a specified model without needing access to the model weights or re-running the model.
Anthropic stated that Claude participated in system optimization, and the related code and Lean formal proofs have now been open-sourced. The system is still in the research prototype stage, with GPU time costs for proof generation ranging from 70 to 95 times that of standard inference.
Testing shows that FlashProve can generate proofs for Meta’s 400-billion-parameter Llama 4 Maverick model at approximately 110 tokens per second on a single H100 GPU, with each proof sized at about 19 MB.
