Anthropic IPO news: Nasdaq 100’s fast inclusion rule could bring it into index funds within weeks
Reports indicate that Anthropic is preparing for a Nasdaq listing this fall. Reuters noted that roadshows could begin as early as mid-October, with the listing有望 to be completed before the mid-term elections in November. However, nothing is finalized until the public prospectus is filed, and IPO timelines often change.
If Anthropic goes public at the approximately $2 trillion valuation that investors are reportedly expecting, it would surpass the threshold for the top 40 companies under Nasdaq’s “fast-track inclusion” rule as of May 2026 and could join the Nasdaq-100 after 15 trading days. Since over $800 billion in assets track this index, funds such as QQQ would be required to purchase its shares.
SpaceX followed the same path: it was added to the index on July 7, following its listing on June 12. JPMorgan estimates that related passive fund inflows amounted to approximately $4.3 billion. However, since index weights are calculated based only on tradable shares, SpaceX’s weight at inclusion was below 1%. The stock declined nearly 6% on the day of inclusion.
