Top altcoin news broke as Anthropic filed its IPO prospectus on October 27, 2026, showing $134 billion in cash and short-term investments. The company secured a $120.5 billion computing deal with SpaceX through 2029. Anthropic serves nearly 2,000 customers, each generating at least $1 million in revenue, with half of the Fortune 500 paying $100,000 annually. On-chain news reveals the top five clients made up 25% of first-half 2026 revenue, while 5% to 7% came from policy-violating users. CEO Dario Amodei earned $18 million in 2025, and the firm spends millions on executive security.

Anthropic disclosed detailed financial information and business risks in Monday's filing ahead of a potentially record-setting IPO. Anthropic's IPO will test whether demand for powerful AI can remain sufficient to finance the enormous infrastructure supporting that demand. Some experienced Silicon Valley investors found fresh grounds for optimism, alongside warnings about whether customer spending can match computing costs. Anthropic must also keep producing models that justify premium pricing as competition strengthens and cheaper alternatives improve.

Theory Ventures said reaching a $2 trillion valuation would require 50% growth. Theory Ventures' Tomasz Tunguz cited rapid growth, high margins and an operating profit as reasons to support a very high valuation. However, Tunguz highlighted $637 billion in computing commitments, contracts that cannot be cancelled and the absence of guaranteed customer loyalty.

Anthropic has nearly 2,000 customers generating at least $1 million in revenue each, including 250 generating at least $10 million each. Half of the Fortune 500 pays Anthropic $100,000 annually. Those Fortune 500 customers allocated less than 0.1% of their total third-quarter expenses to Anthropic. Longtime technology analyst Ben Bajarin argued that adoption remains at an early stage. Bajarin pointed to 300 million businesses outside China spending almost $1.5 trillion annually on enterprise software.

Anthropic held more than $130 billion in cash and short-term investments on June 30, approximately $10 billion below the total capital Anthropic has raised. Some investors interpreted that cash position as evidence of substantial financial discipline. Anthropic's revenue per employee reached $6.6 million at the end of the third quarter. That figure was slightly below Nvidia's, a company generally regarded as among technology's most efficient operators.

Anthropic's five biggest customers generated approximately 25% of revenue in the first nine months of 2026. Many Anthropic customers pay according to usage without committing for multiple years. However, Anthropic's computing obligations run for years and require minimum payments even when Anthropic does not use the contracted capacity. Almost 50% of Anthropic's first-half revenue passed through cloud marketplaces run by Amazon, Google and Microsoft. Amazon, Google and Microsoft also invest in Anthropic, supply computing capacity and compete with Anthropic. Those cloud companies benefit from collecting both computing revenue and platform fees.

Anthropic said customers violating Anthropic's policies or terms of service generated 5% to 7% of revenue during the first nine months of 2026. Some outside experts believe much of that revenue involves distillation, which uses very large numbers of model queries to generate training material.

Anthropic's computing arrangement with Elon Musk's SpaceX is expanding. Anthropic's paperwork projects payments to SpaceX reaching $3.1 billion monthly and as much as $120.5 billion for computing through 2029. The monthly figure was $1.25 billion when SpaceX filed for an IPO. Either company can terminate the agreement with 90 days' notice.

Anthropic's filing lists more than $134 billion in cash and similar securities, representing almost all the capital Anthropic has raised. That balance prompted some observers to question whether Anthropic has paid many bills using convertible notes. Other observers questioned how little of Anthropic's expenses appears in cost of goods sold, which directly influences reported profit margins.

CEO Dario Amodei received total compensation of nearly $18 million in 2025. Anthropic also disclosed spending millions on personal security for Anthropic's two highest-ranking executives. The filing describes a succession arrangement allowing Amodei and the other co-founders to nominate successors to exercise their voting power, subject to the other co-founders' approval.
