ChainCatcher report, according to Bitcoin News, Dario Amodei, co-founder and CEO of Anthropic, told U.S. lawmakers that open-source AI development is entering a "very dangerous path." Once AI models with powerful capabilities are released as open source, developers will lose effective oversight over how these models are used, including the inability to monitor abuse, revoke access, or dynamically update security mechanisms, thereby increasing potential risks. Dario Amodei stated that compared to closed-model systems, fully open models make it far more difficult to implement ongoing security governance and may lead to irreversible misuse.
