Anthropic and Blackstone Group have launched Ode, a $1.5 billion AI deployment firm targeting enterprise clients. Founded in May, the company is backed by Hellman & Friedman and Goldman Sachs. Ode provides customized AI engineering using Anthropic’s Claude models and other tools. With a team of 100 engineers, it collaborates closely with Anthropic to identify AI applications across industries. This development aligns with the rising interest in altcoins to watch, as the Fear & Greed Index reflects growing market confidence in AI-driven innovation. OpenAI has also recently launched a similar firm, The Deployment Company.
CoinDesk reports:

As the capabilities of large models continue to improve, AI companies are expanding their competitive focus from model performance to practical enterprise deployment. According to TechCrunch, Ode, a joint venture backed by Anthropic and investors such as Blackstone, is attempting to turn AI implementation into a standalone business.

Ode is valued at $1.5 billion.

The company, launched in May of this year and named Ode with Anthropic, includes investors such as Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, and Goldman Sachs. Reports indicate that Ode is currently valued at approximately $1.5 billion and is positioned to provide AI engineering deployment services to enterprises.

Ode was founded on the basis of Fractional AI, an AI engineering services startup. Blackstone, having previously engaged with large consulting firms and small AI service teams while promoting AI applications within its portfolio companies, identified Fractional AI and acquired it following the announcement of the joint venture.

Currently, Ode has approximately 100 engineers and collaborates with Anthropic’s applied AI team to identify viable AI use cases across various industries and customize systems according to existing enterprise workflows.

The focus isn't on choosing a model, but on transforming the process.

Ode's management believes that the challenge for enterprises adopting AI lies not in choosing which model to use, but in how to integrate the model into core business processes and build sustainable product or operational capabilities.

According to its vision, ideal clients typically require direct involvement from the CEO, as such deployments often involve the company’s key products for the next two years or its most critical business process transformations. As a result, Ode positions itself as an intensive, customized implementation team rather than merely selling model interfaces.

Ode will prioritize Anthropic’s Claude series products and leverage related features when feasible. However, the company does not exclude competing products and will integrate other AI tools if required by customer use cases.

Leading model companies are beginning to enhance their service capabilities.

This path is not unique to Anthropic. OpenAI previously launched The Deployment Company for enterprise deployments. Reports suggest this reflects a growing consensus among leading model companies that stronger models alone may not be enough to win over large enterprise clients.

The practical challenges Ode faces are also clear: on one hand, demand for on-site engineering teams is growing; on the other hand, engineers who understand AI and can independently drive complex enterprise projects remain scarce.

In addition to OpenAI, major consulting firms such as Deloitte and Accenture have also established similar teams. Ode aims to maintain its boutique service model while continuing to expand and enter international markets, and continuously evaluate the real-world impact of AI deployment on business operations.

From this strategy, the next phase of competition in the AI industry is shifting from “whose model is stronger” to “who can better integrate models into enterprise workflows.”
