Huo Xing Cai Jing reports that on August 3, American Bitcoin (ABTC), a bitcoin mining company associated with the Trump family and supported by Hut 8, announced that its President and Interim CFO, Matt Prusak, will depart on August 4 to join Giga Energy, an AI and energy infrastructure company, as Chief Business Officer and Interim CFO. Prusak stated that after “years of building a bitcoin business,” he is shifting focus to upstream energy infrastructure to address the power supply constraints currently limiting both bitcoin mining and AI computing. American Bitcoin, co-founded by Eric Trump and listed on Nasdaq, previously had Prusak leading its bitcoin accumulation strategy, including expanding hash rate capacity and increasing BTC holdings per share. Giga Energy, headquartered in Houston, primarily develops power infrastructure and AI data center facilities. The company states it has already delivered over 6.5 GW of power infrastructure and is currently developing more than 500 MW of AI data center capacity. Industry insiders believe Prusak’s transition reflects a growing acceleration of bitcoin mining companies moving into AI infrastructure. As competition intensifies and profit margins come under pressure in mining, more miners are leveraging their existing power resources, land reserves, and data center capabilities to enter the AI compute infrastructure market. With major tech companies competing for power and data center capacity, energy supply has become a core bottleneck for AI expansion, and companies with strong capabilities in power resource integration are attracting increasing attention.
