Based on Jinse, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has officially launched its custom artificial intelligence chip, Trainium3, claiming it offers four times the computing speed of the previous generation. The chip, designed by AWS subsidiary Annapurna Labs, can reduce the cost of training and operating AI models by up to 50% compared to systems using equivalent GPUs. Decart, an AI video startup, reported significant progress after testing Trainium3, following trials with chips from competitors including NVIDIA. The release of Trainium3 marks a new challenge to NVIDIA, the dominant player in the GPU market, as more AI companies seek to diversify their chip suppliers.
