On-chain data shows other top holders include Valor Management ($86.01 billion), FMR LLC ($51.66 billion), and NVIDIA ($20.98 billion). These figures are based on Q2 13F filings following SpaceX’s listing on Nasdaq on June 12. The stock closed at $170.86 on June 30 but declined to $140 by August 14. Inflation data and market trends continue to shape institutional investment patterns.

BlockBeats news, on August 16, following SpaceX’s Nasdaq listing on June 12, the Q2 13F filings for the first time collectively disclosed institutional holdings after the listing. According to data from the third-party 13F platform Giantsight, as of June 30, approximately 1,697 filers disclosed positions in SpaceX, encompassing various types of capital including pre-IPO investors, venture capital firms, asset management institutions, and pension funds.

SEC filings show that Alphabet, Google’s parent company, reported holding 551 million shares of SpaceX (valued at $94.18 billion), making it the largest 13F filing position to date; Valor Management holds 503 million shares ($86.01 billion), FMR LLC holds 303 million shares ($51.66 billion), Gigafund Management holds 172 million shares ($29.36 billion), the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia holds 154 million shares ($26.34 billion), and Baron’s BAMCO holds 146 million shares ($24.91 billion).

Other significant filers include NVIDIA with 123 million shares ($20.98 billion), Baillie Gifford with 51.4 million shares ($8.78 billion), BlackRock with 51.04 million common shares ($8.72 billion), Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan with 50.68 million shares ($8.66 billion), and the Harvard University Endowment with 12.935 million shares ($2.21 billion).

From the source of holdings, Alphabet and Gigafund are pre-IPO investors in SpaceX; NVIDIA’s position in SpaceX stems from its prior investment in xAI. FMR, BAMCO, BlackRock, and Baillie Gifford primarily represent asset management funds. The appearance of these positions in Form 13F does not imply that these institutions purchased shares in SpaceX on the secondary market after its IPO.

The amounts above represent the end-of-period reporting values as of June 30. On that day, SpaceX closed at $170.86, and by August 14, it closed at $140, a decline of approximately 18.1% from the quarter-end. If the number of shares held remains unchanged, the current market value of the related common stock position would decrease accordingly. Form 13F primarily reflects long positions in reportable securities as of the quarter-end and certain held options; it does not disclose short stock positions, sold option positions, specific purchase dates, cost bases, or trades made after the quarter-end.
