ChainCatcher report: According to an exclusive report by Huxiu, Alibaba has designated “AI Office” as one of its strategic directions and completed organizational and product integration: the original Wukong division has been upgraded to the “Qwen Office Division,” led by Chen Yusen, with the three products—QoderWork, Wukong, and MuleRun—technologically merged into a unified platform called QwenWork. The three original products and their respective teams no longer exist independently. QwenWork launched public beta testing on August 3, with web and PC client versions now available; the DingTalk integration portal is set to launch soon. On the same day, Alibaba released the Qwen3.8 model, enhancing its coding and coworking capabilities. Alibaba positions QwenWork as an “enterprise-grade AI productivity platform designed for organizational use,” not as a personal office tool. In the short term, user count and monthly active users are not primary performance metrics; instead, the focus is on product experience and real-world enterprise adoption. The Qwen Office Division also oversees DingTalk, aiming to leverage DingTalk’s reservoir of millions of enterprise customers. According to Analysys data, in June, among AI office agent desktop visits, Tencent’s WorkBuddy led with approximately 20.97 million visits, followed by ByteDance’s TRAE IDE at around 12.79 million, and Alibaba’s QoderWork at approximately 7.88 million (with Wukong contributing an additional 1.31 million). This integration is viewed internally as a critical step to catch up with Tencent and ByteDance. In response to the news, Alibaba’s Hong Kong-listed shares rose over 7% on August 3.
