Derived from Forklog, Alibaba has launched its first AI-powered smart glasses, Qwen, with the Quark S1 model priced at $537. The glasses feature transparent displays, 24-hour battery life, and support for real-time translation, note-taking, and chatbot interaction. They are available in China through Tmall, JD.com, and Douyin, with international versions expected next year. The S1 and a simplified G1 model run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 chip. Alibaba is expanding its AI strategy, having rebranded its mobile app to Qwen and launched a 6-billion-parameter image generation model, Z-Image, in November.
