Odaily Planet Daily reports that Alibaba Group has completed a share placement of HK$80 billion, issuing 710 million new ordinary shares to non-U.S. persons outside the United States at a placement price of HK$112.70 per share.
The net proceeds from this offering will be fully utilized to strengthen Alibaba’s global AI presence: approximately 60% (HK$47.871 billion) will be allocated to expanding global computing infrastructure, and approximately 40% (HK$31.914 billion) will be used to accelerate the construction of hyperscale AI data centers. The funds will also upgrade traditional cloud infrastructure, including storage, databases, and high-performance networks, to support Alibaba’s comprehensive transition to an agent-based cloud architecture. This offering is being made outside the United States in reliance on Regulation S and has not been registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933.
