The official website of the Cloud栖 Conference has also updated his title to “Project Lead, Qwen LLM.” Liu Dayiheng joined Alibaba in 2021 and has since been a core member of the Qwen development team. In March of this year, Lin Junyang, the technical lead of Qwen, left to start his own venture; in June, Zhou Jingren, who oversaw AI model development, stepped down from his management role and transitioned to Chief Scientist at Alibaba. Following these consecutive leadership changes over the past six months, the head of the Qwen large language model line has now been officially confirmed. Liu Dayiheng has also been placed in a central role at this year’s Cloud栖 Conference. On the conference website’s list of speakers, he is listed immediately after Alibaba Chairperson Daniel Zhang and CEO Yongming Wu, and he will deliver a keynote talk titled “Qwen: Toward Real-World Agents” at the main forum.
