According to CoinDesk, the Algorand Foundation has officially appointed William Herkelrath as CEO, succeeding Staci Warden, who served for nearly five years. Herkelrath previously held leadership roles at blockchain data provider Chainlink and crypto custody company Curv, and co-founded the AI automation platform K3 Labs. He assumed his new role on August 31. Algorand stated that the new CEO will focus on expanding institutional business and advancing post-quantum security initiatives. Algorand has already introduced post-quantum accounts based on the Falcon-1024 signature scheme in its v42 consensus upgrade and plans to achieve full quantum resistance by 2028. Additionally, the foundation’s board has been restructured, with Alex Fowler joining and Rebecca Rettig and Michael Mosier stepping down.
