Turning an idea into a product that is truly seen, validated, and needed requires more than just technology—it requires real-world industry scenarios.Article author, source: ME News
From August 31 to September 6, 2026, the AIx Origin Summit 2026 will be held in a dual-city format connecting Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Organized by INNOAI and co-hosted by ME Group, this event brings together developers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and creative talents from universities in Hong Kong, mainland China, and overseas, in collaboration with academic institutions, developer communities, and industry partners, to explore new possibilities for AI as it moves from technological innovation into the real world.
This event is centered on the theme “Trace Origin, Build Together,” creating a complete practical scenario from idea generation to product realization through online team formation, topic selection, and technical research, followed by in-person development, testing, demo presentations, and project pitches. The event is expected to attract over 300 creators onsite, spanning more than 30 universities, with four tracks: Flux, Vital, Anchor, and Weave.

Why Hong Kong and Shenzhen?
AIx Origin did not simply treat the two cities as two separate competition venues, but aimed to leverage the distinct industrial strengths of Shenzhen and Hong Kong to create a truly collaborative innovation initiative between the two cities.
Shenzhen, focused on "making it happen."
As a city with a high concentration of technology and innovation industries, Shenzhen boasts abundant resources in robotics, smart hardware, IoT, and edge AI. Therefore, the Shenzhen event focuses on Embodied Intelligence and Smart Hardware, and Holistic Integration and Agent Creativity, corresponding to the two tracks Anchor “Embodiment” and Weave “WeaveRealm,” bringing AI from screens into the real world.
Hong Kong, focused on "making it go global."
Hong Kong possesses unique advantages as an international financial center connected to global markets. This Hong Kong event will focus on two key areas—AI + Fintech and AI + Healthcare—through the Flux “FlowRealm” and Vital “LiveRealm” tracks, exploring real-world applications of AI in digital finance, Web3.0, life sciences, and healthcare.
One city excels at creating things, while another excels at connecting innovation to the world.
This is also the core reason AIx Origin chose the Shenzhen-Hong Kong dual-city collaboration: to ensure that an innovative idea, once seen, can be brought to life and seamlessly enter the industry and market without interruption.
Hong Kong Station: AI × Finance × Life Sciences
As an important part of this event, the Hong Kong stop will be held at Cyberport from September 5 to 6.
The Hong Kong event revolves around two tracks with distinct industrial characteristics:
Flux · FlowRealm | Digital Finance & Web3.0
Explore how AI is redefining value flows and financial services through cross-border payments, digital assets, financial infrastructure, and novel transaction and trust mechanisms.
Vital · Vital Area | Life Sciences & Healthcare
Focus on healthcare, life sciences, health data, and intelligent medicine to explore how AI can enter these high-value, high-demand real-world industry scenarios.
Unlike hackathons focused solely on technical skills, both tracks in Hong Kong directly align with industries in Hong Kong that have international connectivity, providing participating teams with opportunities to transition from technical practice to real-world applications.
48 hours, from Build to Demo
From September 5 to 6, Shenzhen and Hong Kong will simultaneously enter the offline development phase.
September 5 | Build Day
On the first day of the event, participant check-in, the opening ceremony, and the Workshop will be completed, officially launching the project development phase.
Participating teams will form teams, design products, and develop technology around their chosen track, while receiving support from technical mentors and access to relevant development resources to collectively advance their projects.
September 6 | Demo & Pitch Day
The next day enters the final sprint.
Participating teams will submit their projects and present live demos and pitch presentations to demonstrate their product solutions, technical implementation, and real-world application value to the judges.
The final segment will feature a judge Q&A, project evaluation, and award ceremony, providing outstanding projects with further opportunities for presentation and exchange.
From Build to Demo, and then to Pitch, two days will serve as an intensive acceleration for teams to validate their ideas, refine their products, and connect with industry resources.
More than just a hackathon
The AIx Origin Summit 2026 is not just focused on competition outcomes, but aims to build an innovative network connecting technology, talent, capital, and industry.
For developers, this is an opportunity to quickly validate technical and product ideas; for startup teams, it’s a chance to connect with industry needs, potential partners, and market resources; for industry stakeholders, it’s an entry point to discover new technologies, products, and talent.
For Shenzhen and Hong Kong, this is also an attempt to reconnect technology, talent, industry, and the global market.
As one of the co-organizers, ME Group will also contribute to connecting the Shenzhen-Hong Kong innovation ecosystem, fostering new intersections between more AI innovation projects and industries, capital, and global markets.

Trace back to our origins and build reality together.
In September, creators from different cities, universities, and academic backgrounds will meet in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
Someone brings a problem, someone brings a technology, someone brings a product prototype.
What AIx Origin wants to do is give them a real-world scenario, 48 hours, and the opportunity to turn their ideas into reality.
From Hong Kong to Shenzhen, from idea to product, from being seen to being truly needed.
AIx Origin Summit 2026, looking forward to more innovators joining.
