AirAsia Founder's Capital A to Collaborate with Standard Chartered on Ringgit Stablecoin in Malaysia

Capital A, backed by AirAsia founder Tony Fernandes, has signed a deal with Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia to explore a ringgit-backed stablecoin. The project will be issued by Standard Chartered and tested by Capital A for wholesale use. It will be supervised by Malaysia’s central bank at its digital asset innovation center. The initiative marks a new innovation in the local digital finance space.
