Arlington, Virginia, October 13 /PRNewswire/ — Air today announced new platform enhancements, stating it is advancing "Enterprise Readiness" from intelligence to execution, encompassing national security systems and driving a shift from static visualization to autonomous, mission-driven actions.
Tara Murphy Dougherty, CEO of Air, said: “Lethality is fleeting; sustaining it requires organizations to remain continuously ready, not just meet static metrics. Our latest platform enhancements leverage AI-native orchestration to streamline complex workflows between suppliers and operators, directly connecting the factory floor to the front line. By replacing manual processes with agent-based execution, this release helps defense enterprises close the readiness gap and maintain a force that is always ready and lethal.”
Air will demonstrate these platform enhancements today at the AUSA 2026 Annual Meeting & Exhibition, featuring a special event attended by a senior U.S. Army leadership customer. The event will take place from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM today in Room 147A at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
Readiness gap
Air stated that in modern combat environments, readiness is often treated as a set of metrics to be monitored. Once a manufacturing plant experiences production delays, a manual status report is generated, followed by a cascade of emails, phone calls, and meetings; by the time coordination catches up to the reality on the ground, the combat brigade may have already missed a critical training window, or deployed forces may be using equipment that is mission-incapable.
Air stated that military leaders have consistently emphasized that the U.S. speed of deployment to the battlefield is hindered by fragmented data, manual handoffs, and information silos that separate procurement departments from frontline operators. In this environment, readiness is merely observed, measured, and reported, but rarely executed in real time.
Air says there is now a gap between frontline demand and enterprise delivery, known as the "readiness gap," and this gap is widening.
Despite spending nearly $700 million per day to maintain and update a weapons inventory valued at over $1.4 trillion, decision delays remain a primary constraint. A 2026 August research report by global management consulting firm Oliver Wyman shows that if the entire military could recover an additional 30 “readiness days” per year, approximately $20 billion in value could be unlocked annually.
Air stated that its purpose is to close this gap. Its AI-native agent platform, Air Enterprise Readiness, is designed to close the "readiness gap" and is currently helping organizations across the U.S. federal government, allied and partner nations, and the industrial base achieve continuous enterprise readiness. Air said that security assets valued at over $140 billion are being kept ready on its platform.
Air operates by unifying the procurement lifecycle—research and development, production, delivery, and sustainment—treating readiness as an ongoing, iterative cycle. By consolidating fragmented data into a single, authoritative readiness view, Air transforms static, isolated reports into dynamic orchestration, enabling organizations to identify risks, evaluate trade-offs, and execute solutions in real time before critical windows close.
New platform enhancements
Air stated that the platform enhancements released today build on the aforementioned capabilities, putting agent-based execution directly in customers' hands to accelerate task outcomes.
When production delays occur, Air doesn’t just highlight risks—it initiates resolution workflows. With new agent-enhanced capabilities, Air coordinates teams by automating critical processes, calculating trade-off spaces, reallocating components to priority units, and dynamically updating training plans. Whether identifying 3D printing capabilities at nearby command posts to bypass supply chain bottlenecks or integrating static assets into operational orders, Air is driving the enterprise toward autonomous, mission-driven operations.
Andrej Danko, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Air, said: “Achieving continuous readiness requires an AI-native system that goes beyond the isolated tools available to operators today. Air provides an agent platform that drives mission outcomes from day one. We are designing the platform to automate complex workflows and ensure operators can immediately access critical insights and take action the moment every second counts.”
Air stated that this release introduces a range of advanced capabilities designed to simplify the coordination of complex tasks for defense enterprises.
- User-controlled data activation: Air enables enterprises to bring their own operational realities into the platform. Users can now securely ingest, structure, and extract entities from their own data sources, automatically fusing them with Air’s proprietary business data and industry-specific ontologies—including market signals, suppliers, parts, and contracts—that are often missing from internal systems. This creates a comprehensive, integrated view that can be instantly queried and acted upon within the platform’s orchestration and decision-support layer.
- Workflow Orchestration: This capability moves beyond individual productivity to enable team-level outcomes. Air’s new “Flows” feature allows users to coordinate work across enterprises, ensuring dependencies between general contractors, project offices, and operators are systematically managed rather than handled manually.
- Action-oriented user experience: Air’s new user experience is designed to drive task outcomes. The platform prioritizes clear action guidance to help users identify the specific decision points and actions needed to move tasks forward.
- Task-Specific Execution Centers: These centers integrate research and development, production, delivery, and support into a coordinated execution system, packaging Air’s capabilities into each execution center according to specific task domains.
Task Progress: Scenes from the Frontline
Air cited an example: in a high-risk frontline reality, an upcoming operational deployment relies on the synchronized fielding and training of the Mobile Brigade Combat Team (MBCT), which integrates infantry squad vehicles with the next-generation mobile anti-UAS interception system. These capabilities fall under the management of different Program Acquisition Executives (PAEs), yet must function as a single, lethal formation. Under traditional models, tracking cross-program dependencies and resolving scheduling friction requires weeks of phone calls, mass email threads, static slide updates, and disconnected spreadsheets.
Air claims its platform can completely transform this model at every stage of the lifecycle. Through process orchestration, Air instantly identifies readiness gaps; automates delivery and inventory redistribution processes during production delays; and compresses training alignment from weeks to minutes. On the front line, Air ingests raw operational orders, automatically generates brigade-level synchronization matrices, and builds real-time digital twins based on vehicle telemetry. When a component fails in combat, Air identifies local additive manufacturing (3D printing) capabilities to bypass supply bottlenecks within hours. Finally, tactical maintenance data flows back to PAE for automated failure analysis, closing the feedback loop and optimizing procurement before the next unit deploys.
