AI-Themed Hedge Fund Achieves Situational Awareness, Liquidates All Public Stock Assets
KuCoinFlashShare
On-chain trading signals failed to prevent the AI-themed hedge fund Situational Awareness from liquidating all its public stock holdings, as misjudgments in software stocks led to heavy losses. The 25-year-old fund, backed by OpenAI alumni, is now suspended from certain trading activities and is raising capital with leverage support from Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan Chase. Core holdings such as Micron and CoreWeave have declined over 35% this month. Once valued at $200 billion, the fund posted a 439% net return by June 2026 before support and resistance levels reversed sharply against it. The fund is now considering asset sales or full liquidation and has begun divesting private investments, including Anthropic.
