ME AI messaging, enterprise AI startup Hone has officially launched Engines and completed a $60 million seed round led by Benchmark and Index Ventures. Engines are designed to autonomously own long-term business objectives set by enterprises, such as increasing sales conversion rates or reducing procurement costs. After a company sets its goals, an Engine learns the internal systems, historical data, and workflows, then autonomously creates the required Agents and tools to collaborate with employees in achieving those goals. It continuously adapts based on feedback, eliminating the need for repeated manual instructions. Engines can modify their own tools, code, and memory—but changes must first pass simulated testing. The system simulates colleague responses and business system changes, compressing weeks of work into minutes to re-run and verify that no previously functioning features have been broken. Hone reports that, across 125 internal test scenarios, the rate of issues caused by modifications dropped from 33% to 5%. Hone’s founder, Moritz Stephan, previously contributed to the core planning and execution system of Devin. Cognition and the AI reasoning platform Modal are among its early customers.
