Poke is a personal agent that operates within SMS, capable of initiating messages, following up on user needs, and delivering services through interactive, “friend-like” exchanges. Over the past three months, Poke users have sent over 100 million messages to it, making it the only AI agent currently natively supported by Apple and directly runnable within Apple Messages. Cognition states that the agents developed by the Interaction team are proactive, personalized, and highly interactive—aligning closely with the development direction of Devin, Cognition’s AI software engineering agent. The two teams have been following each other’s work for years; Cognition’s co-founder noted that both have long bet on “always-on cloud agents.” After the acquisition, Poke users will continue to use the product as normal.
