ME AI News, according to monitoring by Beating, human behavior simulation company Simile has completed a $200 million Series B round, bringing its post-money valuation to $2 billion. It trains “AI avatars” using real human data, enabling businesses to simulate how different populations might respond before launching products, marketing campaigns, or policies. Simile publicly launched and closed its $100 million Series A just five months ago; the company reports that revenue has grown fivefold since then. Its models have run tens of millions of simulations for Fortune 100 companies. Clients can survey hundreds of thousands to millions of AI avatars in a single study. CVS Health, for example, used 400,000 avatars to study how to increase patient medication adherence. Deloitte, Gallup, and automated investing platform Wealthfront are also using the service. Simile aims to accurately simulate the world’s 8 billion people. However, accuracy claims are primarily self-reported, and external skepticism remains about whether AI avatars can truly replace real humans. At this stage, it functions more like a rapid screening tool prior to traditional market research. Simile’s CEO, Joon Sung Park, is the lead author of the groundbreaking 2023 academic paper “Generative Agents,” which demonstrated 25 AI agents autonomously living and exhibiting emergent behaviors in a virtual town.
