ChainThink reports that on August 4, according to Bloomberg, AI cloud infrastructure company Volta Infra Holdings announced the completion of a $300 million venture funding round, valuing the company at $2.4 billion.
This funding round was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Altimeter Capital, with participation from NVIDIA and Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell.
Volta is backed by a $5 billion customer financing pool, intended to help small and medium-sized AI companies lower the barrier to purchasing NVIDIA's high-end chips.
The company also disclosed that it has signed a six-year, $10 billion cloud computing services contract with an unnamed leading AI developer.
This contract will be delivered in collaboration with Bitdeer, leveraging its 133-megawatt data center in Norway.
Volta, co-founded earlier this year by Ricard Boada and Sofia Gumuzio, former executives from Brookfield Asset Management’s infrastructure business, has secured 1 gigawatt of data center power resources and plans to develop new sites in Texas and Wyoming, aiming to deploy multiple gigawatts of computing capacity by 2030.
