The $2.5 billion valued AI assistant, Instinct, has launched a new feature: assigning each user a dedicated Instinct email address. This allows the agent to register for services, contact merchants, or follow up on tasks using a separate email, without frequently cluttering the user’s personal inbox.
Can register and communicate on behalf of the user.
Noah Shinn, founder of Instinct, said this design enables agents to independently complete more steps in scenarios requiring an email, including creating accounts, managing registration information, and sending inquiries to merchants.
According to him, Instinct can use its own email to contact restaurants for special requests, confirm availability with merchants, or register for online services required to complete tasks. Users don’t need to log in each time or repeatedly submit their email accounts.
Reduce login interruptions
The focus of this update is to further automate processes that previously required user intervention. Previously, Instinct partnered with the password manager 1Password to support access to users’ existing account logins. With the addition of a dedicated email address, the agent’s independence in registration and communication has been further enhanced.
The company also stated that email addresses for some early users have been reserved, and other users can claim their Instinct email address via a designated page.
Forwardable order emails for after-sales service
Shinn also mentioned that users can now forward emails to Instinct, allowing the agent to complete subsequent tasks accordingly. For example, if a user wants Instinct to handle a return, they can forward the order confirmation email; the agent will then contact the merchant’s customer service, provide the order details, confirm whether it’s a return or exchange, and return a printable return label once the process is complete.
Throughout the process, if user confirmation is required, Instinct will prompt again; if no additional input is needed, it will continue automatically.
Recently, we have been continuously enhancing our payment and location capabilities.
This email feature is part of Instinct’s recent series of product updates. In addition to its collaboration with 1Password, Instinct has recently added a location-sharing feature that helps users find nearby businesses, restaurants, or plan routes and itineraries based on their current location. Users can also review their location history, such as parking spots or restaurants visited last month.
In August this year, Instinct also partnered with Stripe to expand its payment capabilities, enabling agents to book travel, courses, and appointment services on behalf of users and complete purchases.
