Odaily Planet Daily reports: The Kobeissi Letter posted on X that AI agents are rapidly entering commercial transactions, but there is currently no standardized way to verify which individuals or entities AI agents represent or whether they are authorized, meaning that insecure software could make large expenditures on behalf of individuals and institutions. The AI agent market is projected to exceed $53 billion by 2030.
In June this year, Stripe stated that 70% of its API data access requests now come from AI agents; over the past year, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express have all launched commercial agreements for AI agents, and Shopify has defaultly opened AI agent sales channels to approximately one million merchants. The Kobeissi Letter argues that as AI agents become more widespread, simple and secure transactions will become increasingly difficult to identify.
