PANews, July 30: Aave founder Stani Kulechov tweeted that Aave’s recent phased shutdown of low-adoption assets and networks should not be interpreted as a stance on any L1 or L2. The goal is simply to reduce Aave’s operational, technical, and economic risk exposure so the team can focus on higher-impact priorities, such as growing existing high-value markets and expanding into securities financing. L2s remain critical to Ethereum’s user experience—for example, Aave App’s stable vault uses an L2 as its accounting layer, which will onboard mainstream users into DeFi. Similarly, networks like Avalanche play a vital role in bringing RWAs on-chain through institutional business development—an area where Ethereum has historically been lacking.
