Odaily Planet Daily reports that six Bitcoin wallets inactive since 2011 to 2014 collectively transferred 553.59 BTC between August 16 and 26, valued at approximately $40 million. Funds from five of these wallets were sent to addresses with no known association to exchanges; only one wallet transferred 40 BTC to Boerse Stuttgart Digital, a German crypto custody and trading service provider.
Galaxy Research data shows that dormant Bitcoin on-chain movement fell to its lowest level since 2022 in the second quarter of this year, with full-year 2026 movement projected to be less than half of last year’s volume. Galaxy research head Alex Thorn stated that none of the whale clients they’ve engaged with have sold Bitcoin due to quantum computing risks, though some institutional investors have indeed delayed purchases because of them.
