Based on MetaEra, a 27-year-old mainland woman has been arrested by Hong Kong police for allegedly setting up a fake website under the name of the 'Hong Kong Tai Po Fire Relief Fund' to solicit donations. The police shut down the fraudulent website and froze the associated bank account after receiving a report on November 29. The suspect, who claimed to be unemployed, was detained on December 1 and is currently under investigation. Authorities have referred the case to the Second Serious Crime Unit of the Wan Chai Police District and have not ruled out further arrests. The Hong Kong government has established an official 'Tai Po Hong Fu Garden Assistance Fund' for donations, and police urge the public to verify information before contributing to avoid falling victim to scams.
