On September 23, 2026, the 12th Blockchain Global Summit, hosted by the Wanxiang Blockchain Lab, will be held grandly in the Grand Ballroom on the first floor of the Shangri-La Hotel, The Bund, Shanghai.
In just one day, a high-density exchange of ideas spanning policy, finance, and technological frontiers will unfold. From keynote speeches to in-depth roundtables, from macro-level insights to on-the-ground practices, distinguished guests from policy, finance, academia, technology, and industry will take the stage to bring together the most critical issues facing the sector in one place.
Today, the full agenda for the 12th Blockchain Global Summit has been officially revealed.
Reimagining the Next Chapter of Blockchain, from Global Policies to Financial Infrastructure
The morning session will begin with global policy and gradually delve into digital currencies, payment and settlement, and the financial infrastructure of the future. As global regulatory frameworks take shape, on-chain finance is moving from conceptual discussions to more concrete real-world applications. How regulation will be implemented, how payment and settlement will evolve, and on what consensus the financial infrastructure of the future will be built—these are the key questions the industry must answer as it enters its next phase.
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin (online) and Moon Inc. CEO John Riggins will deliver keynote presentations first; followed by Li Guoquan, Dean of the Global Academy of Financial Technology, who will analyze the latest global trends in blockchain policy and regulation from an Asian perspective under the topic “The New Landscape of Global Blockchain Policy: An Asian Perspective”; and Fan Wenzhong, Standing Director of the China Society for Finance and former Chairman of Beijing Financial Holdings Group, will offer insights into the next phase of development based on financial practice and industry evolution.
Extending to more specific use cases, the practical applications of digital currencies and institutional evolution will be key focus areas this morning. Ba Qing, Chief Economist and Head of Strategic Planning at HashKey Group, will moderate the roundtable discussion “Digital Currencies: From Payments to Settlements,” alongside Special Senior Researcher Zhao Yao from the National Laboratory for Financial Development and Partner Zhao Ying from King & Wood Mallesons, to explore payments and settlement in digital currencies.
As discussions progress from policy to applications, the conversation around future financial infrastructure will further deepen. Chen Long, Secretary General of the Luohan Academy, will present on “Toward Future Financial Infrastructure: Consensus, Disagreements, and Pathways”; Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Legislative Council member (Information Technology) Chau Tat-kan and Qtum co-founder Miguel Palencia will also deliver keynote speeches.
From asset tokenization to the AI wave, new frontiers are being opened.
The afternoon agenda will further explore the intersection of blockchain financial innovation and cutting-edge technology. The AI era is accelerating, with agents evolving from information processing to autonomous decision-making, collaboration, and trading; at the same time, tokenization is moving into more concrete financial applications, from tokenized deposits to equity tokenization. How blockchain can support the agent economy, and how traditional financial assets can further move on-chain, are becoming pressing real-world questions.
Around these ongoing changes, Chen Bin, General Manager of Wanxiang Blockchain, Morris Mao, Partner and Chief Data Scientist at Lanxiang Intelligence, and Liu Tao, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Zen7 Labs, will discuss “From Smart Contracts to Smart Transactions: How Blockchain Supports the Agent Economy,” focusing on how smart contracts and on-chain transaction mechanisms will evolve as AI agents enter real-world trading scenarios.
From tokenized deposits to equity tokenization, financial practices around tokenization will also be a key focus of the afternoon discussions. Du Yu, Head of the Wanxiang Blockchain Lab, will moderate the panel discussion titled “The Underlying Logic, Regulatory Framework, and Future Landscape of Tokenized Deposits,” alongside Rita Liu, CEO of Wanbi Technology, and Yang Donglin, Head of Central Bank Digital Currency and China Digital Assets Business at Standard Chartered Group, to explore critical issues ranging from underlying mechanisms and regulatory frameworks to future market dynamics. Following this, Zhao Xi, Professor and Deputy Dean of the School of Management at Xi’an Jiaotong University, will deliver a keynote speech, offering academic insights into the latest observations on financial innovation and industrial development.
Anna Liu, CEO of HashKey RWA, will moderate "The New Wave of Equity Tokenization: Launching from U.S. Stocks," alongside Min Lin, Global Head of Business Development at Ondo Finance, Thomas Chou, Head of Asia Pacific at the Canton Foundation, and Abdelhamid Bizid, Head of Active and Alternative Investment Product Development for Asia Pacific and Head of Products for China at BlackRock’s Global Product Solutions (GPS), to discuss the equity tokenization wave and focus on the latest industry trends.
As innovation continues to advance, the foundational boundaries of security and trust must be reexamined. Professor Yu Yu from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Dean of the School of Cryptology at East China Normal University will deliver a keynote speech on "The Threat of Quantum Computing to Cryptography." Leo Lin, Co-founder of Arkreen, will moderate the panel discussion "Defining the Boundaries of AI: Privacy-Preserving Computation and Blockchain," alongside Xia Fubiao, Co-founder of Primus; Momo, Chief Security Officer of KUN Global; Miguel Palencia, Co-founder of Qtum; and Zhu Xiaoxiao, Director of R&D for Edge Computing at StarFive Technologies, to explore the boundaries of data, privacy, and trust in the age of AI.
