ME News report, on August 12 (UTC+8), according to TradingBeats (formerly Hyperinsight), overnight into this morning, the largest BTC bearish whale starting with 0xff84 rolled over and increased its short position, accumulating a total short of 479.5 BTC, with a traded value of approximately $30.45 million at an average execution price of $63,496.70. As of press time, this whale holds a 40x fully-collateralized short position of 1,792.6 BTC, with a position value of approximately $114 million; the weighted average entry price is $63,999.20, yielding an unrealized profit of about $572,000, or a return of approximately 20.0%. This $114 million short position leaves almost no room for a BTC rebound. BTC is currently trading at $63,681, while the whale’s liquidation price is $64,102.10—just $421.10 (approximately 0.66%) above the current price. The whale’s account equity stands at approximately $2.193 million, but due to rollover long positions reducing margin, the notional BTC position is roughly 52 times the account equity. After adding $30.45 million in additional short exposure, the whale has maintained its entire position within less than 0.7% of liquidation, implying an expectation that BTC will not rally significantly in the near term. The whale has set 36 “reduce-only” market stop-loss orders to cover its entire short position of 1,792 BTC, with trigger prices ranging from $64,070 to $67,787. However, liquidation may occur before these stop-losses are triggered: The nearest stop-loss is only about 0.61% above the current price and roughly $32 below the liquidation price. In the event of a rapid price surge or order slippage, this set of stop-losses may not fully prevent liquidation. (Source: BlockBeats)
