Equinor $EQNR is preparing repairs at its Visund oil and gas platform in Norway’s North Sea, which remains offline following an electrical system fire on November 4. According to Gassco, the shutdown is currently expected to last until November 16, although the restart date remains subject to revision. Only 36 personnel remain on board, down from 128 at the time of the incident. Crews are securing the affected area and handling logistics ahead of repairs and restart preparations. Visund can supply up to 13.2 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, equivalent to approximately 3.7% of Norway’s gas export capacity. The platform is owned by Equinor (53.2%), Petoro (30%), ConocoPhillips $COP (9.1%) and Repsol solana:2bQBNJfkGLsCkKEHJUgdFnPoQvDqpW6SYoJ6Zfrtpump (7.7%).
