On the occasion of Saudi National Day, There are homelands we inhabit, and there are homelands that inhabit us. Saudi Arabia is a homeland that resides within us before we come to live in it. We Saudis are bound to this land not merely by nationality, identity, or passport—but by a deeper bond, forged through faith, history, allegiance, memory, and destiny. When our National Day arrives, we do not merely celebrate a past event or recall a unification story from textbooks; we reaffirm the blessing we live every day: having one homeland, one flag, one leadership, and one destiny. And the greatest word carried by our flag is: There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. It is from this truth that our pride in this homeland begins. A land honored by God. We take pride in being Saudis, in knowing our homeland rests upon land honored by God—Mecca and Medina—where the message of Islam first shone upon the world. Here is Mecca, our qibla and the heart’s longing of every Muslim. Here is Medina, the city of the Prophet’s migration and his final resting place. From this peninsula emerged our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, surrounded by his noble Companions, the Rightly Guided Caliphs, his family, and the Mothers of the Believers—may God be pleased with them all—this generation that bore the message of Islam, established its state, and spread knowledge, justice, and monotheism. God further elevated this land and its people by revealing His Book in the Arabic language: “Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an that you might understand.” (Qur’an 12:2) And He says: “In an Arabic tongue, clear and eloquent.” (Qur’an 26:195) And He says: “We did not send any messenger except in the language of his people, to make things clear for them.” (Qur’an 14:4) Arabic is the language of our Qur’an—the tongue in which revelation was recited and whose sciences and heritage have been preserved through centuries. When we say: “We are Saudi Arabs and Muslims,” we invoke behind these words a grand history and an even greater trust. From our peninsula emerged the Prophet ﷺ; from it emerged the first generation of Companions and Caliphs who carried Islam’s message to distant peoples and nations; from it arose a civilization whose impact endures in human history. When we take pride in our Saudi identity and Arab heritage, we do not boast of lineage or ethnicity, nor claim superiority over other humans; for God Almighty says: “Indeed, the most honorable among you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous.” (Qur’an 49:13) We take pride in a mission, a trust, and a history. We believe that our connection to the land of revelation is first a duty—not merely an honor—and a responsibility—not merely a source of pride. From the Land of Revelation to Our Unified Homeland Centuries passed; the parts of the Peninsula fragmented amid countless conflicts—until God granted our land King Abdulaziz ibn Abdulrahman Al Saud—may God have mercy on him. When we reflect on what the Founder achieved, we do not merely see territory he unified—we see a homeland he built and a meaning he established. He gathered scattered lands under one state, lifted his people from fragmented destinies to one shared destiny, and left us a nation with a name, a flag, and an identity: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Therefore, we do not view unification as a historical event long past; we see it as a sacred trust left by the Founder upon our shoulders. We know nations are built through sacrifice—but they endure only through awareness and loyalty. The Allegiance Is Our Covenant From the pledge given to King Abdulaziz to those given to his royal successors, allegiance has remained the covenant uniting our leadership and our people. We do not regard allegiance as mere ceremonial words; we see it as an oath of loyalty, unity of destiny, and commitment to the state that united our land and—by God’s grace—preserved our security and stability. Under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, we move our homeland toward the future—firmly rooted in our heritage, faith, and identity. We recognize that building this future is not solely the responsibility of our leadership—it is ours as well. Among us are soldiers defending our borders; teachers shaping generations; doctors, engineers, scientists, farmers, workers, entrepreneurs; mothers instilling in their children faith, ethics, and belonging. We are all building Saudi Arabia. We believe true loyalty is not measured by how much we say about our homeland—but by how much we give to it. Our dedication at work is loyalty. Our preservation of security and unity is loyalty. Our advancement in education, industry, technology, and economy is loyalty.And leaving our children a stronger nation than the one we inherited is one of the truest expressions of our loyalty to it. We are the sons of the Land of the Two Holy Mosques. We hold in Saudi Arabia a honor unmatched by any other. On our soil stand the Masjid al-Haram and the Prophet’s Mosque; toward Mecca, the faces of Muslims turn in prayer, and toward Mecca and Medina, hearts from every corner of the earth yearn. In our nation, we bear the honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques, caring for their visitors, and tending to pilgrims and pilgrims, as well as safeguarding the sacred sites. We know this is a great blessing, yet it is also a great trust. And a solemn one. Our loyalty to the Founder is not merely in remembering what he achieved, but in preserving what he unified.
