Twenty-one leading international financial institutions will jointly establish a stablecoin company. Twenty-one financial institutions, including Citigroup, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, and WisdomTree, have committed to forming a new company in the second half of 2026 to launch a stablecoin solution. The name of the new company will be announced at a later date. It plans to operate globally, initially focusing on issuing USD-backed stablecoins, with long-term plans to expand issuance to stablecoins denominated in other Group of Seven (G7) currencies, with euro-backed stablecoins being a priority.
