This allows Saudi Arabia to transport oil to the Red Sea coast and completely bypass the Strait of Hormuz. Initial exports through the port of Yanbu could even begin today. Before the shutdown, around 4 million barrels per day flowed through the pipeline. That’s roughly 4% of global oil supply.
