i thought @BITFOOTS_ was just another Zcash NFT. then i went down the rabbit hole. 303 creatures. all unique 1/1s. the artist, @ShiloniousMonk has been obsessed with pixel art for 20+ years, starting with MS Paint, and says Bitfoots took 14 weeks and 1,000+ hours to make. even the style is deliberate: 90° angles, color stacking, no heavy black outlines. Pixaki, Aseprite, Photoshop. then i found out this wasn’t made because Zcash was hot. the collection was originally prepared around Bitcoin Ordinals, then sat for roughly 2.5 years before coming back. suddenly “The Hunt” made more sense. Bigfoot is something everyone knows, everyone talks about, but nobody ever seems to actually find. that fits Zcash almost too well. and i like that Bitfoots treats privacy as a choice, not secrecy: the art can be public without the person behind it being on display. Zcash + Bitcoin, same creature, two different worlds. i don’t know if Bitfoots becomes a blue chip. way too early to know that. but 303 1/1s, years of pixel-art history, 1,000+ hours of work, a collection that waited years to launch, and a concept that actually makes sense on the chain it chose… that’s enough to make me pay attention. the hunt is just getting started🦶 @BITFOOTS_ $ZEC
