🛡️ The roadmap for Zcash NU7 is now clear Following discussions among various organizations and engineering teams within the Zcash ecosystem, community sentiment analysis, and timing assessments by the Zakura–Zebra teams, a shared calendar for NU7 has been agreed upon. 📅 NU7 Timeline 🔹 September 30, 2026: Completion of code implementation for all NU7 features and readiness for testnet upgrade. 🔹 October 6, 2026: Official Zcash testnet will be upgraded to NU7. 🔹 October 20, 2026: Testnet experiences will be evaluated, and the mainnet activation height along with the final activation decision will be determined. 🔹 November 5, 2026: NU7 is planned to be activated on mainnet. ⚙️ What changes with NU7? • 25-second block interval • Disabling of v4 transactions • NSM integration • Preservation of shielded pools and their reactivation starting February 2031 Important detail: NU7 does not introduce a new transaction format. Therefore, significant impacts on wallets are not expected. However, infrastructure components such as full nodes, indexers, and block explorers may need to be updated to remain compatible with NU7. Additionally, the 25-second block time alone will not increase total ZEC issuance. The block reward will be adjusted accordingly to balance more frequent block production, ensuring total issuance per time unit remains unchanged. NU7 is now moving toward the testnet phase. 🚀 Details: https://t.co/AMxDjeAV1b #Zcash #ZEC #NU7 #Privacy #Crypto
