In the interview, the CFTC official pointed back to the CLARITY Act, saying there had already been bipartisan support for the CFTC to oversee the crypto-asset industry. He then explained the goal even more clearly: Give crypto exchanges a federal option to operate under one national, uniform framework supervised by the CFTC. And right now, the agency is already inside the 60-day public-comment process around that framework. Now connect that directly to $XRP. On March 17, 2026, the SEC and CFTC explicitly identified XRP as a digital commodity. Then in October, the CFTC advanced Regulation CTX and Regulation CAM, covering federal exchange registration, market surveillance, customer-asset safeguards, margin, financing, custody and broader market supervision. And XRP already has the institutional infrastructure waiting around it.
