THIS IS HOW RIPPLE ( $XRP ) IS EMBEDDING ITSELF INTO GLOBAL BANKING Turns out “just a payments company” aged about as well as a fax machine. Most people still see Ripple as just a payments company. That is too narrow. Ripple is building custody, treasury, and stablecoin infrastructure that major banks are already using, and the $XRP Ledger sits close to that stack. In 2023, Ripple bought Metaco for $250 million. Its Harmonize platform is built for institutional digital asset custody and compliance. Now look at the names around it: HSBC, Standard Chartered’s Zodia Custody, BBVA, BNP Paribas Securities Services, and Societe Generale Forge. This is not a theory anymore. These are real integrations with tier-one banks. The strategy is layered: payments through RippleNet, custody through Metaco, stablecoins through RLUSD, treasury through ClearConnect, and $XRP as the bridge and liquidity layer. At this point, calling Ripple “just payments” feels like calling Amazon “just books.” The rails are not just being built. They are already getting plugged in.
