BREAKING: Money market fund assets held by US households rose +$63 billion in Q2 2026, to a record $5.11 trillion. This marks the 17th consecutive quarterly increase, totaling +$2.58 trillion, or an average of +$152 billion per quarter. Money market fund assets held by US households now stand +89% above the peak recorded during the 2020 pandemic. Meanwhile, the Fed raised rates for the first time since July 2023 on Wednesday, by 25 basis points, to 4.00%, with markets now pricing in 3 additional hikes by mid-2027. Risk-free investments are about to get even more popular.
